Tournée of American hard rock band Cactus. In the 1970 the group, composed by Tim Bogert,Carmine Appice, Jim McCarty, Adele Smithcell and Rusty Day, release his first album: Cactus.
“I consider Jim McCarty one of the early guitar masters,” says Carmine, enthused at playing with axeman McCarty again. “He hasn’t really gotten the credit due him, but in 1966, when Jeff Beck was playing that style with the Yardbirds, Jim McCarty was playing with Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, playing the same kind of guitar, bending with fuzz tone, doing all that stuff. So Jim is one of the American originators of that kind of guitar playing. And he still plays great. He still has a lot of energy. He’s always loved playing with Cactus, but he started out as a drummer. And he always liked me as a drummer, because I had a good groove, as they say - he appreciates me from the drum point of view. So we’ve got along really well; he’s mellow, he’s understanding, he knows what’s going on, and he has a good outlook on life and on music.”
