At the end of the nineteenth century writer Paul De Rosiers focuses on the Yankee spirit in front of the food:
"The first thought of an American is to swallow the breakfast "rush because there must be at work, at the latest, at eight in the morning and continues, saying that not content yourself or chocolate but something more substantial as steaks, bacon, salt pork with eggs, baby food cereal "is eaten up very quickly because time is pressing, and not to waste time are blatantly violated the laws of gastronomy".
