Gabriele Borioli was Born exactly halfway between London and Tunis during the winter of 1970.
He approached photography as a child by his father who taught him to use his Kodak Retinette.
We are in the era of the needle and exposure meters analog and Gabriele learns photographic technique virtually self-taught . Always a kid builds his " Box Photo " with wood and cardboard and enters for the first time in the darkroom where he learned the magic of transforming moments in white sheets " timeless ". For he will remain the " House of Ghosts ": the place where the figures appear from nothing and remain alive forever.
At 14 he is donated his first camera, a ' Agfa laptop with exposure meter is the first step towards a ' technological evolution that led him to be up to date and in step with the times regarding the photographic technique that post-production.
Meanwhile, he realizes that the world seen from the viewfinder likes: loves the idea of being able to give the looks of his surroundings from different angles and loves the magic to stop time with a single image. This idea , combined with the desire to explore and experience, will accompany him throughout his photographic journey.
During university manages to buy his first reflex: it's time for an Olympus OM 101. Thus began his creative path connected to the fact of being able to have more control over timing and depth of field. In this period he had a growing conviction that the technique is important but it is the composition of the best part of a photo. Simultaneously carries his desire to shoot in places farther and related primarily to the nature and especially the mountains.
As we approach the present day, his photography is strongly influenced by his spirit a little ' nomadic adventurer and especially curious: travels extensively in search of places rich in history, nature, culture and above all humanity . So his shots take a decidedly more reportage. Always careful not to pollute the shot with poses or artifacts from the outside tries to capture the scene to capture the naturalness of the moment.
Its intent is to bring home small true stories to be made known and show .
