In the fifties the U.S. army declared war to Korea. Three American mothers belonging to middle class were sending letters full of words of comfort for their sons enrolled in the army. Relevant elements of this vintage photograph are U.S. postal stamps slightly hidden from the hand of the woman in the foreground. They would treat the two oldest stamps used by the US postal system representing the two presidents of the United States of America: George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. These two stamps were printed and issued in circulation for the first time in 1847, few years later (1851) they taken off the market for franking problems.
