A stunning reportage of an Indonesian tribe that has never had contact with the world. Thanks to the geographical isolation of the Dani were discovered only in 1938 by an airplane pilot who had noticed some signs of civilization while flying over the remote Baliem Valley's, in the central province of Papua. The Roberto Pazzi shots show how the life of these people is totally away from the hectic and chaotic western routine. Scattered in 300 villages, some of which count only 3 or 4 people, the Danes have maintained unchanged in the years customs and ancestral traditions. In this photograph by Roberto Pazzi, some members of the enemy tribe Yali, the Last Cannibals Earth (cannibalism was banned in 1970). Until a few decades ago, the yali used to feed on the bodies of slain enemies, probably this practice is still in place in the most remote villages. Every August, the Yali and Dani meet in dancing and simulated battles, creating the Wamena festival.
