Retro photograph of the thirties of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Unlike many mosques, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque allows the entry not only to tourists, but also to women. Here a party of men and women cross the threshold of the courtyard with finely decorated marble fountain with vegetable themes. No woman is allowed to pray in the central area of the dome that's because women usually pray at home respecting the words of the prophet Mohammed, according to which the best mosque for women is contained in the most intimate corners of their home.

In the background the great dome of 32 meters. The presence of this impressive element in the architectural style of the mosque is a typical characteristic of Turkish dating back to the Byzantine churches of the Greek plan as Sophia.
